Ellie Goulding and Professor Green have had their fair share of success in recent years – garnering chart acclaim and a host of award nods. But now the pair have been recognised for their work outside the field of music by animal rights organisation, PETA – who have named them the UK's Hottest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2015.

Previously held by the likes of Leona Lewis and Eliza Doolittle, PETA's Award in Recognition of Outspoken Concern for Animals goes out to those under the spotlight who endeavour to promote the rights of vulnerable animals and the benefits of a meat-free diet.

When ‘On My Mind’ pop megastar Ellie Goulding isn’t being tipped for Oscar nominations or smashing arena tours, she’s busy spreading the joys of vegetarianism. Her Instagram account is filled with delicious meat-free dishes and the Brit Award-winner even used her latest album, ‘Delirium’, to fight the fur trade – sporting a faux fur coat on the record’s artwork.

Goulding credits her decision to adopt plant-based diet with giver her an athletic physique. "My body's different, my skin is different, my face shape is different, and my eyes are brighter, too," she commented.

Likewise, Professor Green has noticed a marked difference since sharing his decision to go veggie on Twitter. The ‘Jungle’ artist first cited numerous animal welfare documentaries and grime legend JME as his inspiration for the lifestyle change, and since then, he has fervently spread the PETA’s motto: “animals are not ours to eat.”

While we’re unsure of Goulding and Pro Green ever releasing a collaborative ode to Quorn sausages, the duo are clearly carrying the torch for vegetarians across the UK.
