An interview with The Huffington Post was no backyard party for R Kelly, who walked out after being questioned about his sexual allegations affecting the sales of his latest album, The Buffet. The ‘Trapped In A Closet’ singer has been repeatedly accused of sexually abusing minors, but has never been convicted.
The interview with The Huffington Posts’s Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani began peacefully but ignited when the journalist asked Kelly about whether the allegations against him have affected his success.
The singer said, “I didn’t come here for negative. I came here for positivity and I don’t give people who have negativity towards me the time of day. Especially if it was what, I don’t know how many years ago.”
Kelly continued, “I’ll talk to you like the beautiful lady you are.”
When asked if he had an unhealthy attitude towards sex, Kelly responded, “I did not come here to get interrogated, I didn’t come here for a deposition ... If you don’t think you’re disrespecting me, that’s the level of your intelligence… Do you drink? Do you get drunk? Do you fall all over and not know where you’re at?”
Soon after, Kelly stated that the interview was over, parting with, “Thank you so much, you’re so beautiful.”
As he walked off, Modarressy-Tehrani calmly said, “You don’t have to comment on my appearance, sir.”
