A former contestant on BBC's The Voice has appeared in court charged with a string of 15 sex offences - including one on a child.

Jeff Anderson, 25 from County Downs, appeared at Downpatrick Magistrates Court to appeal his bail conditions so that he could leave Northern Ireland to perform in England, reports BelfastLive

Among his charges are two alleged indecent assaults on children, three charges related to alleged possession of an indecent image and 10 apparent incidents of voyeurism without consent for the purpose of sexual gratification. He also faces one charge of theft.

Anderson, who also appeared on Superstar in 2012 to compete for the starring role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar, has already surrendered his passport, but confirmed that he understood the charges against him and was permitted to leave Northern Ireland to perform overseas.

The judge permitted the change of bail conditions and warned Anderson that he would be remanded in custody if he did not stick to the conditions of the order.
