Kanye West launched his new album, The Life Of Pablo, in New York last night - and has already sparked controversy with the lyric, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous."
The pair have a famously bumpy history. Back in 2009, West interrupted the then 19-year-old as she made her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the VMAs, saying, "Taylor, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time." When he handed the mic back, Swift stood in silence until her time ran out.
The pair subsequently made up, and it's probably true that the high-profile incident didn't hurt Swift's career - but six years and three albums later, it's safe to say that most of the credit goes to the musician herself.
During the track 'Famous', every single guest at Madison Square Gardens - including Swift's close friend Gigi Hadid - heard West rap the line, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous."

Though there were initially reports that Swift had approved the song, her spokesperson quickly released a statement denying this. "Kanye did not call for approval," the statement reads, "but to ask Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that bitch famous'."
Meanwhile, Swift's brother Austin has posted a video on Instagram captioned, "Getting a head start on some spring cleaning," in which he throws a pair of Yeezy trainers in the bin.
As for when you'll be able to hear The Life Of Pablo for yourself - it might not be streaming exclusively on Tidal after all. The streaming service recently told Vulture that they "do not have any information regarding the release of Kanye’s album at this time."
