26 year-old singer Taylor Swift has used the remainder of her $1million Dollar (£800,000 pounds) pledge to help out four charities in the flood hit state of Louisiana.

The vocalist decided to give the money to help those who had been affected by the storms that hit the US state recently. It has been acknowledged as one of the worst natural disasters to hit the United States in recent years.

‘Shake It Off’ hit-maker Swift took it upon herself to pledge the money to good causes across the state and has helped various charities including those who assisted schools and food banks.

Those benefiting include Convey For Hope, The Life of a Single Mum, YMCA Baton Rouge and Habitat For Humanity. The last of which hope to rebuild 100 homes for flood stricken people by the end of 2016.

The singer has been praised across the board for her very generous donation. Many have stated they are very thankful for her contribution to their work and how much they need such funds.

"Our hearts are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for single moms. We are grateful to Taylor Swift for reaching out to help us ensure that no single mom walks alone during this very difficult time," the Life of a Single Mom wrote.

"The devastation across southeast Louisiana has been unbelievable. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve more single moms with this gift.” They added.

Dianna Payton, CEO of YWCA Baton Rouge, also thanked the singer for her generous gift on their website, and said the funds would be used to help repair one of their facilities that was damaged in the floods.

"The generous donation from Taylor Swift could not have come at a better time for our organisation. These funds will be put to great use as we continue working to restore our Early Head Start facility that was damaged during the historic flooding last month, and continue our critical work of providing access to high quality early childhood services," she wrote.

The charities are clearly over the moon with the support Miss Swift has given them and will use the money wisely.

Well done Taylor, you stepped up and fulfilled your pledge to the state and those people those devastating floods they damaged.
