The Rolling Stones will release their new album before the end of this year, says Ronnie Wood.
Last year, Keith Richard first revealed his hopes to record new material following the completion of their South America tour. "These guys aren't getting any younger, but at the same time, they're getting better," he explained. "I'd love to shove them in the studio in April, hot off the road."
Right on cue, five days into April, and we've got another update on that album. As NME reports, Ronnie Wood spoke of new music at the opening of the new Rolling Stone exhibition in London. He revealed that the band intend to release new music before the end of 2016.
This'll be the band's first new album in over a decade. They released their 24th studio album, A Bigger Bang, back in 2005. Though they've continued to tour since then, they've not produced any new material.
Exhibitionism, The Rolling Stones' first ever major exhibition, opens to the public today (5 April) in London's Saatchi Gallery, and runs until 4 September.
