Tom Adams has unveiled his achingly beautiful new song, ‘Fade’, and announced live dates for May. Listen to ‘Fade’ on Gigwise first below.
The Berlin-based musician has a penchant for poignant minimalism - nestling expansive melodies and universal emotions into the most concise and stripped back of instrumentals.
“Whisper goodbye, and finally walk away,” utters Adams in ‘Fade', his voice - itself barely more than a whisper - draped atop a sombre piano instrumental, whose chords settle themselves into a sort of resigned repetition. As those chords continue, unchanging, his voice soars into beautiful falsetto.
Adams, who’s supported the likes of Perfume Genius and A Winged Victory For The Sullen, will release his debut EP on 6 May, via brand new label Kowloon.
Tom Adams plays a free show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on Monday 9 May, as well as the Volksbuehne in Berlin on 17 May.
