In an interview with Sky News, Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones has said that in the short-term, “Brexit” could be “detrimental” to the UK. The singer then went on to say that, “I wonder if David Cameron, if he was asked today, whether he would actually want to put this out for a referendum now”.

Jagger also said, “In the longer term, in a twenty-year term, it might turn out to be beneficial.” The singer also admitted that though the referendum is important it won’t affect him personally.

In a day of announcements, The Rolling Stones also announced a new album today with Ronnie Wood revealing that the band hope to have new material out by the end of this year. He made the announcement whilst at the opening of the bands new exhibition in London today (5 April).

The referendum date, 23 June, is set to take place over the same weekend that Glastonbury is taking place where The Rolling Stones headlined in 2013. The festival has now sent out information to festivalgoers on how they can be sure to get their vote in. They have offered some advice on how to do so, given the fact that the festival itself will not have a polling booth.
