Police are to investigate two deaths that happened in the wake of Sunset Music Festival, whilst 57 others were said to be hospitalised.

The festival, which was held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May is being investigated for the unknown causes of the death and why the festival-goers were hospitalised.

Tampa Police have said that both 22-year-old Alex Haynes and 21-year-old Kate Bermudez were hospitalised on the Saturday. Haynes sadly passed away on Sunday, whilst Bermudez was pronounced dead on Monday.

Though the medical examiner's office did not report a cause of death immediately, other reports suggest that a drug overdose was the cause of death.

A spokesperson for St. Joseph's Hotel told WLFA, that it was "frightening" how many festival-goers visited the hospital over the weekend to be treated for drug overdoses.

Tampa Police are yet to comment on why 57 others were hospitalised. But they have reported that there were 33 arrests, and 16 marijuana civil citations.
