Stevie Wonder has made an incredibly funny, albeit very serious point, regarding the upcoming presidential election.
Though Wonder may not be the first musician to wade in on the campaign, he is the first musician to make a point as simple as this.
The multi-platinum musician, who is blind, compared Trump's ability to govern to his ability to drive in a candid interview.
In a Q&A with philly.com's music critic, Dan DeLuca, after performing at a concert for Democratic candidate, Hilary Clinton, Wonder made the point.
The singer was asked: "Why are you doing this?"
To which Wonder replied: "My youngest child is 1 year old. She is a junior Millennial. So I’m looking at the future. And I’ll give you a point of reference. As much as you have great love for me and you think I’m funny and la la la la la and I make you laugh and all that, if you had an emergency situation and needed to go to the hospital, and you had to get there right away, would you want me driving your car?"
DeLuca answered: "No. You wouldn't be on top of my list."
The singer replied: "Exactly. Because I’m not an experienced driver, right? So my belief is that Hillary is an experienced person of the government, and she has spent 30 years with a commitment. Not to mention that her parents taught her in a kinder way, to have respect and love for all people. That’s the person I want to govern, to be the leader of this nation."
Wonder is now amongst pop royalty such as, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Elton John, to have come out in support of Hilary Clinton.
The election night takes place tonight (8 November 2016), and in what is a tight competition, could see either Clinton or Trump win.
