Trampolene have unveiled a video to their cover of The Cure's ‘Friday I’m In Love’ which is taken from their new release, Pocket Album Four. You can watch it exclusively via Gigwise below.
The cover, originally recorded for a Radio X session sits on the album alongside some superb poetry and music. ‘The Gangway’, has had multiple Radio 1 plays and is playlisted on Radio X. There’s poem ‘To Be A Libertine’ , which features all four members of The Libertines. ‘Tom Hardy’ is an amusing paean to a mythical star’s mind-boggling achievements, inspired by Jack Jones’ boastful school friend in Swansea. And acoustic ‘Letting You Down’ shows the loud rock n roll band have an ability to write really tender stuff.
‘Friday I’m In Love’ is a fantastic cover of what is a difficult song to do justice to given it's one of the best songs ever. We suspect, though, that Robert Smith will be pleased with how this ones turned out. It’s recorded impeccably well and with the band on raucous form it captures the feel of the original brilliantly.
The video is a collection of lo fi footage of the band on their summer tour around the UK. The amount of fun they appear to be having suits the youthful exuberance of the song brilliantly. Don’t start your Friday without it.
