More than 60 people were injured and 19 hospitalised during a human crush at the Grand Theatre stage of the Lorne Falls Festival, Australia, as fans rushed to see London Grammar on Friday.

Of those hospitalised, 13 were women and six were men - they were taken to hospital with lower leg fractures, pelvic fractures, and cuts and bruises, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

The stampede was blamed on bottle-necks at exits and unstable ground. One doctor named Michael Gannon told The Herald that he was amazed no one was killed in the crush and that the crowds were "frightening."

The Herald also shares the account of a 19-year-old attendee named Ruby Campbell who said she heard people screaming, "I am dying" and bones snapping as she lay under a pile of bodies.

“There were 10 people on top of me,” another said. “I felt the air get squished out of me. I just sort of accepted it. I just wanted it to be over. You’d almost die than have to go through that.”

In response, to the above and hundreds of other similarly horrifying personal accounts, the festival organizers widened entrances to the tent and the area alongside the stage.

"The safety and wellbeing of our patrons is of paramount concern to us," said a festival spokeswoman. "Whilst a very distressing situation, we are heartened and thankful for the amazing work of our medical teams and staff who responded with such care and support to those affected."

As for London Grammar, the gig marks the start of a campaign to promote their first new music since 2013. On New Years Day Phil Taggart premiered their new song 'Rooting For You' on his BBC Radio 1 show.

The track sees the ethereal vocals of Hannah Reid once again take centre stage. There's two versions of the track: the above video features an extended accapella by Reid whilst the radio version has interesting production to flesh out the track throughout

As a match to their early material, the tune sounds like it'll lend itself well to some interesting remixes from heavy electronic music producers.

Meanwhile, Reid spoke with Zane Lowe on Beats about their return with the new track, 'Rooting For You'. You can listen to it below.
