As we anticipated earlier, Foo Fighters were indeed plotting a secret set in Frome, Somerset, in order to announce their Glastonbury headline show - and during it Grohl slammed Trump and his voters.
Prior to playing 2009 single ‘Wheels’, Grohl told the crowd at the small town near Glastonbury, “This song we don’t do at home because if you haven’t noticed, pretty much half of America is a little fucked right now,” before pointing to his head.
The 'Everlong' rockers will headline the Pyramid stage on the Saturday night. Coming all the way to a tiny venue in Somerset is a very courteous, thankful, and Grohl-like way of doing things.
Radiohead, who are the only other confirmed headliner, also had an interesting way of announcing thier Glastonbury festival headline appearance. They teased it with engraving their bear logo in the style of a crop circle. It's difficult to imagine another fsetival getting this much love and special attention when it comes to the preliminary rituals of announcing a gig - Glastonbury is a special one.
If pop fans are thinking Radiohead and Foo Fighters is a bit indie rock heavy then they may be rewarded with Ed Sheeran - he is heavily rumoured to be the third headliner. The festival will run 21 - 25 June
