Doctors advised rest for pregnant star Beyonce and she pulled out of Coachella accordingly. Rumours that Daft Punk will replace her can be put at rest because it has been officially unveiled as Lady Gaga.
The singer, who recently performed with Metallica at the Grammys and played a lengthy Superbowl half time set that caused grief for an Atlanta Falcons player, joins Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar at the top of the bill.
Coachella is widely quipped at for being an oasis for trust fund kids as it is regarded as the most expensive music festival in the world to do to. But the lineup is mouth watering.
DJ Shadow, Car Seat Headrest, Kaytranada, Lorde, and New Order are just the tip of this vast musical iceberg.
Gaga is only the second female headliner who has topped the bill at the festival, following Björk, who headlined twice – in 2002 and 2007.
To headline a festival with acts this great is an honour and Lady Gaga coudln't hold back her excitement on social media:

Elsewhere, it is rumoured that Lady Gaga could be set to release a new album later in 2017, what would be her second record release in 12 months. She was seen on Instagram working in the studio on new material and Forbes reports an album could be out in October.
