Ever the source of hilarity and bashing of his older brother Noel, Liam Gallagher's Twitter account has been put to more productive use this week - by offering an insight into his upcoming solo album.

Taking to the social site earlier today, LG gave an update on the progress of rehearsals for upcoming solo dates in support of the record.

"Just popped into rehearsals and the lads are fucking on it" he wrote, before signing off with "1 word DANGEROUS LG X"

Everything's coming together for the eagerly-awaited record, then? Earlier in the week, Gallagher tweeted that he was "Off to Paris to do album cover" before promising that it "won't be long" until the album drops.

Gallagher used the site to previously announce that the album would be titled after his favourite phrase 'As You Were'.

The Oasis frontman is set to take his 'dangerous' live show on the road this summer. He'll appear at Benicassim, Lollapalooza Paris, EXIT Festival, Serbia and Osheaga Music & Arts, Montreal.

Mat Whitecross, the director of the Oasis documentary film Supersonic, told NME last November that Liam had played him demos of the album during a helicopter ride to the film’s premiere, and that it “reminded me of The Velvet Underground”. “It was epic, it just blew me away,” Whitecross said, “I think everyone’s in for a treat. It’s fantastic.”

In other Gallagher news, Noel has provided backing vocals for new Gorillaz material. We're sure Liam willl have something to say about that.

Liam Gallagher has announced the following festival appearances so far:

6 July - EXIT Festival, Serbia
13-17 July - Benicàssim, Spain
22-23 July - Lollapalooza Paris, France
4-6 August - Osheaga Music & Arts, Montreal
