Slowdive have announced details of their first album 22 years – and details of a special, intimate gig tomorrow night (March 28).

The reformed shoegazers new album is eponymously titled and will be available on all the usual formats on May 5.

The band have also shared a video for a new track called ‘Sugar For The Pill’, which, according to their press release, is “a beautifully understated affair that is light years from the pulsating psych of ‘Star Roving’ but still unmistakably Slowdive”

The video has been produced by in/out and takes its inspiration from the album artwork which is itself a still from Harry Smith’s cult classic animation Heaven And Earth Magic.

You can check out the video here:

To celebrate the forthcoming album release, Slowdive will be playing a surprise show at The Garage in London tomorrow evening (March 29) - the venue in which they played their final London show in their original incarnation in December 1993. Tickets go on sale at 1pm BST today here:

And just in case you strike out on the ticket front, you’ll be able to stream the gig live via the band’s Facebook page at 9.10pm BST tomorrow night (March 29).

1. Slomo
2. Star Roving
3. Don’t Know Why
