Brighton-based leftfield electro-pop newcomers Fröst have unveiled their second ever single, 'Keratin'. Check it out first on Gigwise below.
'Keratin' sees the ethereal vocoded vocals of Franco-Swedish Johanna Bramli (singer for Stereolab offshoot Imitation Electric Piano) combine with minimal percussion samples and soaring psychedelic synth flourishes created by Steve Lewis of Fujiya & Miyagi and Bramli.
The dreamy sound has a cathartic effect for its creators: "Keratin takes us through a journey of sensations from the surface of our skin into the depth of our bones."
With sonics that seems so far removed from the mundane it does feel like tapping into deeper realms of consciousness is very much part of their intention with music.
Fröst's first single 'Crackling On The Wire' has a similarly transcendent effect, although it comes from a far more energetic place with their taste for rave culture emphasised.
The diversity between the two tracks makes their EP an colourful propsoition. It's out in May.
