Pulp's Jarvis is set to receive an honorary degree from the University of the Arts London.
The frontman studied fine art and film at Central Saint Martins which he used as subject matter in Pulp's 1995 hit 'Common People'.
With the line: "She came from Greece she had a thirst for knowledge, she studied sculpture at Saint Martins College."
Others receiving honorary degrees include guitarist Jeff Beck, artist Anthony Eyton and architect Zaha Hadid, reports BBC News.
Jarvis Cocker will collect the honorary degree along with graduating students at the Royal Festival Hall on July 20.
Meanwhile, Jarvis Cocker used a copy of the News Of The World as toilet paper at the T In The Park festival on Sunday (July 10).
