Kings of Leon have revealed their wishes to never perform their enormous hit single 'Sex on Fire', one of their fans' favourite songs.

The song, which is the bane of student unions and pubs across the country, strikes fear into the hearts of many, yet still remains a fan favourite. Speaking to The Sun newspaper, drummer Nathan Followill said he is simply sick of playing it and that if it wasn't requested by fans, then the band would have no problem dropping it from their live shows all together.

"I would be pretty damn happy if my sex was never ever on fire again," he told the newspaper at Radio One's Big Weekend in Glasgow. "Fans want it and you have to do it, and after so many albums together I can tell you, there's a lot of debate about what records make it onto a setlist, everyone has their favourites."

Followill also went on to say that the band's heavy drinking and antics, had become a thing of the past, due in part to their families. "Back in the day, we would arrive somewhere and head straight for the local bar, now we think about getting home to put our kids to bed," he added.

During the band's performance at the festival this weekend, they were joined by none other than Coldplay's Chris Martin who is a self-professed fan. Together they performed the song 'Fans', which seems fitting considering the band's placating of their audience.
