Iggy Azalea has expressed reservations over Lorde's Nirvana tribute during the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction ceremony, saying: "I just don't think it's appropriate."

Lorde sang a version of Nirvana's 'All Apologies' during the ceremony, alongside St Vincent, Joan Jett and Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, as well as the remaining members of the band.

Azalea has criticised the cover though, telling Billboard: "Nothing against her, but I think when you're doing a tribute to someone that's dead, generally it should be the person's peer.

"Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."

Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994, and this year, on the 20th anniversary of his death, his band were inducted into the iconic Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Azalea's criticisms of the ceremony made no mention of the other artists, such as Joan Jett or St. Vincent, who also performed covers of Nirvana's material.

The singer's Charli XCX collaboration, 'Fancy', is currently at No.1 in the US Hot 100 for the second week running.
