Steven Seagal has been removed from the line up of an Estonian music festival for being chummy with Vladimir Putin.
Before we go any further, yes that nutty explosion loving, poor man's action movie star has a blues band - no they aren't any good. Although if you would care to find out for yourself they are playing at the Clapham Grand tomorrow (25 July).
Other than playing sub-par blues rock, Seagal has also been expressing questionable political views, choosing to speak up in support of Russia's annexation of Crimea. He was personally invited by Putin to Russia in March and was quoted by the Moscow Times, saying, a "desire to protect the Russian-speaking people of Crimea, his assets, and the Russian Black Sea military base in Sevastopol… is very reasonable".

He also went on to call Putin "one of the great living world leaders", adding he "would like to consider him as a brother". The pair apparently bonded over a shared love of the martial arts...
This has resulted in Seagal being taken off the line up for Estonian music festival Augustibluus after the downing of flight mH17. Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet, musician Tonis Magi and organisers made it very clear that Seagal wasn't welcome.
"We hoped the Estonian public would first and foremost see Steven Seagal as an actor and a musician. It turns out what they saw was rather a politician and a henchman," festival director Indrek Ditman said. "To many in Estonia, it came as a major surprise that the action movie hero is a blues musician. Likewise, the organisers and numerous others were unpleasantly surprised by his political views and public statements."
Better get back to acting then. Oh... Oh dear...
