L.A. band Vulfpeck have managed to raise $20,000 dollars for a free tour by releasing a silent album on Spotify.
The brilliantly cheeky move saw the band's fans playing the silent Sleepify album, on repeat, while they slept. This allowed the group to raise enough money to go on tour, with free tickets passed down to fans.
Billboard reports that a statement shared by keyboardist Jack Stratton shows a total of $19,655.56 was raised during the two month period. The instructions were communicated to their audience by a video posted on Youtube.

It's safe to say that Spotify were to happy about this despite the fact they initially allowed the album to be streamed. In April however they decided to take the album down, but not before Vulfpeck received their royalties.
