Damien Rice has announced his first album in eight years, with My Beautiful Faded Fantasy set for release in November.
His first record since 2006's 9, Rice officially revealed details of the release last night, premiering the title track on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, which is available to hear below.
Only one minute and 46 seconds long, 'My Beautiful Faded Fantasy' is a subdued fingerpicked ballad, Rice's typically immersive vocals melting over subtly building instrumentation that cuts off just before the track reaches its soaring capacity.

Rice also revealed the first official single from the record, titled 'I Don't Want To Change You' will be unveiled later this month, and that the time away helped him hone a new direction, telling Lowe "Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again"
My Beautiful Faded Fantasy, which was produced by Rick Rubin and recorded in Los Angeles and Iceland will be released on 3 November.
