Florence and the Machine will be making their live return as part of Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit Concert in October.
The band will be joining Pearl Jam, Tom Jones, Band of Hourses, Norah Jones and Soundgarden on the bill and are set to perform at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in California between October 25 and 26. Every act on the bill will be playing acoustically.
Earlier this year Florence Welch confirmed that she has been working on the third Florence and the Machine Album. Speaking to NME at The Other Ball in central London earlier this year, she revealed that she would not be performing any new material on the evening, saying: “It’s not ready yet!” When asked whether there is new material, the Brit Award Winning star smiled and stated: “Yeah. Yeah there is.”
The first Bridge School Benefit took place on 13 October 1986 and has boasted some particularly impressive lineups. The Bridge School is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to ensure that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities. All proceeds from the concert directly benefit these operations of The Bridge School. Tickets go on sale 19 September.
