Prince is set to appear on Saturday Night Live, alongside his band 3rdEyeGirl in his first performance on the show since 2006.
The Purple One will be appearing on 1st November and the episode will be hosted by Chris Rock, who despite being a former cast member, hasn't appeared on SNL in 18 years. If there's a better night of TV to be had in 2014, we'd love to see it.
Prince marked the announcement by tweeting a shot of Rock dressed as Prince from the film Grown Ups 2.
Prince last appeared on the US comedy showcase in 2006 where he performed both 'Beautiful, Loved and Blessed' and 3121's 'Fury'. Rock himself also has some history with Prince - he interviewed 'The Artist' back in 1997 about his thoughts on his legacy and rivalry with fellow musicians.
For all his obvious eccentricities - and there are many - Prince certainly appears to have a highly developed sense of humour. This was most recently shown in his incredibly self-aware appearance on a guest episode of 'New Girl' - a performance Prince enjoyed so much he took to playing it on screens before his secret shows.
Prince's band 3rdEyeGirl recently addressed the persistent Glastonbury rumours in an interview with Gigwise. Asked about whether they might headline a festival. "It's like 'Quit lying, man!' Right when tickets go on sale... If you keep saying it falsely every year, that's not a good look. It's not going to make us want to come."
