Pop superstar Rihanna has revealed the details of the first annual Diamond Ball.
The ‘Stay’ hitmaker will be holding the black-tie fundraiser to benefit her Clara Lionel Foundation (named in honour of her grandparents), and seeks to improve quality of life in areas of health, education and the arts all around the world.
The Diamond Ball will host a dinner and live auction, and will welcome an estimated 600 guests, who will range from entertainment figures to business executives and philanthropists. The singer will of course perform at the event, with a live orchestra, on December 11th at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills.
Rihanna said in a statement about the event: “One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honour of my grandparents. There is truly nothing I’m more proud of, and we’ve just gotten started. I’m excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball - a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational.”
This will of course not be the first time the Barbadian popstar has dedicated a lot of time (and money) to a charitable cause. In 2012, Rihanna established the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine after donating approximately $1.75 million dollars to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.
