Paramore's Hayley Williams is to be the recipient of the first-ever 'Trailblazer' award at the 2014 Billboard Women In Music Awards.
The powerful frontwoman will be honoured with the new award, created to celebrate a ‘standout female artist who breaks from convention to make a unique mark in music and pave the way for other talent’.
Williams is ecstatic at the news saying: “I can remember a time when I would’ve been made fun of for doing things differently. Now I’m getting an award for it? This is too much. I’m so excited! There are women in this industry who totally bulldozed walls down for the likes of me to come along and do what I believe in. I want to be that for even one girl in the future. I can’t wait for the event next month and to high-five some of my sisters in music.”
Fronted by Williams, Paramore have gone from strength to strength this year after their fourth self-titled album became their first ever Billboard No.1 in April with singles 'Ain't It Fun' and 'Still Into You' helping cement their success.

Paramore recently announced a deluxe reissue of their self titled fourth album, set for release on 24 November.
