The Chemical Brothers, Evian Christ, Massive Attack and Kate Tempest will play Barcelona's Sonar festival in 2015.

The first 18 acts for the festival have been announced - including Chemical Bros performing live (without founding member Ed Simons), Plastikman (performing his Guggenheim-worthy project Objeckt), Evian Christ, Kindness and Fat Freddy's Drop. For those who can face it, PC music's finest Sophie will also be on the bill.

Chemical's Tom Rowlands said of headling the festival: “We're very excited to return to Sónar, one of the best crowds, in one of the greatest cities. We are still imagining the gig, both music and visual. We are working on the staging of the live gig at the moment. Adam [Smith, the band's frequent collaborato] has some amazing ideas. The show will be an intense ride, hold tight. [About the new album] I guess the most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way. We hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames. We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers.”

Other acts visiting Barcelona on 18-20 June 2015 will include Daniel Avery, Ten Walls, Lee Gamble, Holly Herndon, PXXR GVNG, Kiasmos, Tourist, Vessel, Nino, and Mans. Over 150 performances will take place Sónar by Day (Fira Montjuïc) and Sónar by Night (Fira Gran Vía).

Last year's festival featured headline performances from Chic, Despacio, Royskopp and Kaytranada.
