A convicted child pornographer is attempting to sue Taylor Swift for $100 million, claiming she based her album 1989 on his life story.
As Radar and Jezebel report, Jose Hilario from Rhode Island has made the claim, despite the fact he is currently serving a prison sentence for possesing 85,000 child pornography images and videos on his computer.
Hilario claims that in 2008, the year of his arrest, the then 18 year old Swift emailed him and asked for help because "she was lonely and sad and that she needed someone to chat with." (If you were in any doubt about the truth of this claim, remember that Swift released her massive-selling debut album two years before this meeting email exchange took place.)
Hilario went on to claim that he met Swift in a Rhode Island mall in April 2008, and she promised him "she would help him with his legal problems and that she would write and sing songs about him." According to Hilario, Swift then backed out of the deal, saying: "the defendant did not keep her promise of giving legal help."
Days after he claims to have met Swift, Hilario was arrested by the FBI for possession of child pornography. That, however, doesn't dissuade him for proceeding with this lawsuit. "I know for a fact that the defendant have a good heart [sic] and that she will come back to her senses and not forget her promise that she made to me." He also asked whether Swift would arrange an introduction to Miley Cyrus for him.
"My heart hurts. I have suffered so much humiliation already" explained Hilario. Afraid to say it Hilario, but one suspects the humiliation is only just beginning.
