Rough Trades New York City store is set to be transformed into Empire Records to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film.
As fans of the 1995 film will know, it's an excellent celebration of simpler times, particularly in the music industry, when stores full of CDs were still thriving. Now most of those institutions have folded, due in part the pesky internet, but some have prevailed and preserved the record store idealism - including Rough Trade.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film (bet you feel old now), Rough Trade's New York City store will transform into the symbolic Empire Records. Fans can expect quarters glued to the floor, shoplifters, a head shaving station. a screening of the film and hopefully a whole load of drama and feel good self discovery - Nineties style.

The event takes place on 8 April, with a second date now taking place on 9 April due to extremely high demand on pre-sale tickets. The rest are set to go on sale 20 February.
Now we need something like this in the UK. Preferably involving GWAR puppets.
