Southern indie songstress Waxahatchee (Katie Crutchfield) has shared her new single 'Under A Rock' ahead of the release of her much anticipated new album Ivy Tripp, following the acclaim she recieved for her first album, Cerulean Salt.
The track is upbeat, driven by electric guitar and softened with Crutchfield's voice; pleading and clear in tone. The track sets the scene for the rest of the album - one that exhibits Crutchfield's growing maturity moreso than Cerulean Salt did two years ago. She said of the album herself, "My life has changed a lot in the past two years, and it's been hard for me to process my feelings other than by writing songs."
As for the overall theme and feel of the LP? "I think a running theme [of Ivy Tripp] is steadying yourself on shaky ground and reminding yourself that you have control in situations that seem overwhelming."
