Madonna has taken her fall at the BRITs in her stride, saying she just had "a little bit of whiplash".
The rather painful looking fall was the big story of Wednesday's BRIT Awards, continuing the trend of mistakes dominating the press around the ceremony. Madonna has clearly been taking the mishap in her stride however, first posting on Instagram that she was okay and now speaking to Jonathan Ross about the incident, with quotes first previewed in The Sun.
"I didn't hurt my butt but I hurt my head" the singer explained. "I had a little bit of whiplash, I smacked the back of my head. I had a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3am to make sure I was compos mentis."
She added: "I was told to tie my cape and start much further back and I had to walk further and everyone was worried my cape was going to slide off so they tied it really tight. So here I am marching in like the queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the slinky string and it wouldn't come undone."
She went on to put fears she would fire her dancers to rest: "My two lovely Japanese dancers, they basically strangled me off the stage. I could either be strangled or fall, and I chose to fall."
Lastly she swore off capes: "No more capes, cape fear is over."
As previously reported, Madonna was set to perform 'Living For Love'. Decked in a cape and flanked by dancers dressed as bulls and such, she soon unveiled herself in a matador before she began awkwardly walking around her bovine friends. Alas, it didn't stay a smooth performance for long as she a dancer inadvertently pulled her down a flight of stairs.
