Alt-J have responded to recent criticism from Noel Gallagher, seemingly taking it as an honour to be insulted by the Brit-pop icon.
Earlier this week, Gallagher hit out at the group in typically comical style, stating he was "no way a fan" of the band in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, before continuing "one of them's got a moustache, and that's unacceptable."
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Gus Unger-Hamilton from the band has since replied to Gallagher's comments, saying they see it as "a right of passage to get a pasting from him".
"Well, I think I said that we'd know we had made it when we were slagged off by Noel Gallagher, so there you go."
Despite not being a fan of their facial hair choices, Gallagher did reveal that he recently bought the group's single 'Left Hand Free', which seemed to please the band: "I'm glad he likes the song, I'm sorry he doesn't like my moustache, but it is here to stay I'm afraid."
