Florence and the Machine is reportedly set to play just one UK festival this year, after Festival Republic boss Melvin Benn claims he couldn't book the group for any of his events this summer.

Speaking to NME at the Latitude launch party, the man behind Reading and Leeds told the magazine that she would be playing just one show this summer, and it wouldn't be at any of his festivals.

When asked if she was playing Reading and Leeds in August, Benn replied: "We would if she was going to work festivals this year,"

"She is going to do one [UK] festival this year, but she just didn't want to do a festival run."

Speculation now turns to which festival Welch will be making an appearance at, after Emily Eavis revealed earlier this week that she would not be headlining this year's Glastonbury - although of course that doesn't rule out her playing Worthy Farm lower down the bill.

Last night saw Florence and the Machine make a live return with an intimate show at Tuffnell Park Dome in North London to an audience of ballot winners.

The show saw her debut three new tracks from her forthcoming album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, including 'Third Eye', 'St Jude' and the record's title track as well as the previously revealed single 'What Kind of Man'.

The singer also performed tracks from across her back catalogue including 'Rabbit Heart', 'Dog Days Are Over' and 'No Light, No Light'.

Aside from this as yet-unannounced UK festival appearance, Florence will be appearing at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich alongside Taylor Swift, with a wealth of US and European festival dates also scheduled in for the singer.
