Kraftwerk have taken legal action after a highly valued German technology company wanted to release a product with the same name.

As the Guardian reports, the portable tech firm Kraftwerk (German for powerstation) raised over $1.5m in funds on Kickstarter for their new charger that allows you charge your iPhone, tablet or GoPro for weeks on end. However, although the idea of charging your phone 11 times without going near a port excited anyone who has been to a festival, it has not gone down well with a certain German electronica outfit.

Kraftwerk founder Ralf Hutter has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against eZelleron, Inc for the use of the term. As the Hollywood Reporter, reveals Hutter has trademarks in a number of different areas, including video and optical data in music entertainment. "Defendant is taking advance orders for the KRAFTWERK charging device," states the complaint. "Therefore, consumers are likely to assume that there is a connection, association, or relationship between the famous electronic Music band and a charger for portable musical-playing devices."

Kraftwerk are set to play a number of European dates with their spectacular 3D show, that captivated audiences at both London's Tate Modern and Latitude festival in 2013. The full dates are below.

19 April - Lisbon Coliseu
20 April - Porto Casa Musica
