The dizzyingly high hopes of this morning have been dashed, after Liam Gallagher's spokesperson denied the singer is working on his debut solo album.
This morning, a source for The Sun was quoted as saying, "Liam is eyeing up summer festival slots so he can preview some of his new stuff. Though he knows his song writing isn't as consistent as Noel's, he's also well aware that his name carries a lot of clout in the music industry."
Unfortunately, though this source seems articulate and kindly, he is not in any way accurate. When NME reached out to Gallagher for comment, a spokesperson described the report as being "a totally fabricated rumour", adding that the suggestion he is working on solo material is "not true."
So, that's a maybe then?
The singer, whose band Beady Eye ended last year, recently posted a selfie of himself with a backstage pass for the gig of his brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher - signalling that their feud has ended.
