John Cooper Clarke announces North American tour

The punk poet's first North American tour in 35 years

Punk poet John Cooper Clarke has announced that he will be touring North America for the first time in 35 years.

The 10-city tour will begin on April 30 in Las Vegas, NV and finish with a two-night stint in Toronto, ON. Clarke will also be making stops in Los Angeles Chicago, Brooklyn and Boston, amongst other cities. You can see his full tour itinerary below.

Clarke, who is known not only as a poet and a comedian, has also appeared on HBO’s The Sopranos and in Plan B’s 2012 film, Ill Manors. He has also previously toured and collaborated with the likes of The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Elvis Costello and Alan Ginsberg.

In 2013, the Arctic Monkeys released a song ‘I Wanna Be Yours’, which was an adaptation of a poem of the same name by Clarke. You can watch Clarke discussing and reciting 'I Wanna Be Yours' below.
