Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has broken his ankle - and shared video footage of the incident with fans. Check it out below.

The 'Crawling' nu-metal superstar was playing basketball while on some downtime from the massive Hunting Party world arena tour - when he came upon a water bottle and suffered the painful injury.

The injury has forced the band to cancel a number of shows.

"If I tripped, I would not have broken my ankle," laughed Bennington, speaking about the incident. "I probably would have probably just kicked the bottle over, or tripped. I actually was playing basketball and went up for a lay-up and came down on top of the water bottle.

Watch the incident from 2 minutes 54 seconds onwards below

The band completed a huge UK tour last year, and are currently set to hit a number of massive US and European festivals this summer - including Rock In Roma in Italy in September
