The cause of rapper A$AP Yams' death has been revealed by the coroner as an accidental drug overdose.
According to New York City's chief medical examiner, Yams' death was caused by an accidental overdose of Opiates and Benzodiazepine. The mixture caused the tragic death of the hip hop legend on 18 January, aged just 26.
Yams was instrumental in the rise of A$AP Rocky, helping to shape the distinct, all encompassing hip hop sound that can be heard today. He was a founder of the A$AP Mob movement, a group of rappers, producers, video directors and fashion designers, who are still carrying the name today.

Following the shocking death of Yams, the hip hop world paid tribute with Azealia Banks saying: “ASAP YAMS should be remembered as a leader, an innovator and most importantly as an important part of NYC youth culture”.
