The world famous Abbey Road Studios in London are set to a launch a new educational programme.

The initiative, called the Abbey Road Institute will help students aged 18 and over be trained in audio engineering and music production. Courses will be approximately twelve months and will take place at the iconic studio.

Head of the Abbey Road Institute, Luca Barassi, enthused: “Synonymous with excellence in recorded music for more than 80 years, Abbey Road’s continued success is largely due to its staff and their knowledge. Now we will be able to share some of this expertise in a course which will provide first-class vocational training for people interested in forging a career in the music industry."

Hopeful music producers will be able to apply for a select number of places from September 2015. The initiative is not however, just limited to London. Additional institutes are planned to open in Sydney, Melbourne, Berlin and Munich.

Luckily for successful candidates, Abbey Road is set to be renovated soon, in an effort to entice more pop stars and composers to record there.
