Kendrick Lamar is set to perform live for a rare UK TV appearance on Jools Holland in April.
Lamar is set to appear on the show on 21 April on BBC 2 alongside Noel Gallagher, George Clinton (with whom he collaborated on To Pimp A Butterfly), Mumford & Sons and Finnish Delta Blues act Mirel Wagner. It's arguably the strongest single lineup since Kanye West played in the same studio as Lorde, Paul McCartney played alongside Arctic Monkeys or even Muse and the Beach Boys shared the spotlight. The show will be repeated on 24 April.
The lineup has already been announced for the first in the series. On 14 April the show will boast Blur, Laura Marling, Vaccines, Songhoy Blues, Natalie Prass and Marc Almond. If anyone would question why it's the best live music show on TV, look no further.
Kendrick Lamar recently released the video for 'King Kunta', from his hugely successful album To Pimp A Butterfly. The video was directed by Director X and filmed in various locations around Compton where Kendrick grew up, including his neighbourhood mini-mart and home.

Kendrick recently revealed that he's been in the studio with Prince (who incidentally is a big Jools Holland fan) after being in Minnesota together last October.
“We was vibing, but we was pressed, man." Kendrick said, revealing they unfortunately didn't have time to complete a whole song. “I didn’t trip over getting a song done. I really appreciate the actual game he was giving...He took control of his music. He was breaking down some things that I need to consider in my career. Just really taking control of your creativity.”
Kendrick will play Wireless Festival in London this summer, as well as appearing at Reading & Leeds festival in August. See below for tickets and details.
