Kanye West has settled charges of misdemeanor battery, to which he pled no contest. The photographer he assaulted at LAX accepted an apology from West in person.
Photographer Daniel Ramos shook hands with Kanye West as the civil lawsuit he had filed for battery in March last year was brought to a close, TMZ reported. Ramos' lawyer, Gloria Allred, stated that an apology from West was one of the conditions of the settlement, but no monetary reparations have been confirmed.
The photographer had spoken strongly in court, levelling the claim that West made the violent attack to promote his album, Yeezus, and called for him to be sent to prison. With no admission of guilt, West pled no contest and was placed on 24 months of informal probation, which he currently serves.
Ever music's most divisive figure, West's confirmation as headliner of Glastonbury 2015 was met with a protest petition 100,000 signatures strong, though we at Gigwise would offer at least 12 reasons to snub the haters. With singles 'All Day', 'Wolves' and 'Only One' already released, the performance is expected to feature material from new album, So Help Me God.
