Madonna appeared as a special guest during Drake's headlining set at Coachella last night, and decided to make her presence felt clearly. Watch the extremely awkward footage below.

During his headline set at the festival on Sunday night, Madonna appeared as a special guest during Drake's track 'Madonna'. She performed a medley of 'Express Yourself', 'Hung Up' and 'Human Nature' before things got extremely strange.

At the end of her appearance she snogged a seated (and clearly very surprised) Drake. His expression would suggest this was not planned: “What the fuck just happened?” said the MC after the encounter.

Madge's tonsils aside, Drake's headline set proved a huge hit with the crowd featuring covers of 'Trophies', 'Blessings' and 'Who Do You Love'. Drake also debuted a large proportion of the tracks from If You're Reading This It's Too Late but the larghest cheers came for 'Started From The Bottom' and 'All Me'.

Drake's latest mixtape, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, was released in February and promptly set a record for the most release-day streams ever at 6.8 million, only to be topped by Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly a month later. After illness prevented him from performing at 2014's festival, Drake is set to headline Wireless Festival's 10th anniversary this July. For tickets and more information click here.
