Royal Blood, Alt-J, Hozier and Bombay Bicycle Club are amongst the acts nominated for an Ivor Novello Award.
The awards celebrate their 60th anniversary this year, and aim to reward excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing. They're judged by "the UK songwriting and composing community."
In the album category, Royal Blood are nominated for their self-titled debut, alongside Bombay Bicycle Club for So Long, See You Tomorrow and Wild Beasts for Present Tense.

Meanwhile, Alt-J's 'Every Other Freckle' is nominated in the Best Contemporary Song category, with Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' and FKA twigs' 'Two Weeks' also nominated.
In the clumsily-named Best Song Musically and Lyrically category, Bear's Den's 'Above The Clouds Of Pompeii' competes with Ben Howard's 'I Forget Where We Were' and Hozier's 'Take Me To Church'.
Perhaps better named the Back-Handed Compliment Award, the PRS for Music Most Performed Work is between George Ezra's 'Budapest', Clean Bandit's 'Rather Be' and Sam Smith's 'Stay With Me'.
The Ivor Novello Awards take place on 21 May at the Grosvenor House, London. See the nominations in full below.
