Chvrches have unveiled a downtempo new track titled 'Dead Air', from The Hunger Games. Check it out below.
Set to appear on the Lorde-curated soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, the song is another cinematic piece to surface from the Scottish synth pop trio, after they provided music for Radio 1's rescoring of Drive last month.
The track has been receiving attention from fans over the last few weeks since the trio started playing it during their live shows under names including 'Gene Wilder', 'Richard Pryor' and 'Eddie Murphy', however the full studio version is available to hear now.
As the name would suggest, 'Dead Air' is a downtempo electric ballad that once again sees Lauren Mayberry's urgent vocal delivery meander through layers of intense, brooding synths before a suitably massive chorus effortlessly heightens the intensity in a way only Chvrches can.
Listen to 'Dead Air' below:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 is released in cinemas on 17 November and also features soundtrack contributions from Lorde, Charli XCX, Bat For Lashes and a host of others.
