If there is just one band on this planet who don't ever let their age hold them back then it's got to be Aerosmith, as the timeless rockers showed during their headline performance at Clapham Common.
The audience stuck around during the rain in the earlier sets, and they were well rewarded when it was time for Aerosmith. Draped in his usual scarves and looking better than he has any right to, considering that he's well into his 60s, Steven Tyler took the stage and proved that the band are definitely not past their prime.
Aerosmith know exactly what people want to hear and they give it to them with the kind of crazy abandon that they're known for, not hesitating to break out all the hits. From the classic 'Walk This Way' to the power ballad 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing', Aerosmith showed time and time again just why they're still around and as good as ever.
The band threw some covers into the mix as well, with a cover of The Beatles' 'Come Together' and 'Lady Madonna'. Steven Tyler also took matters into his own hands during the band's rendition of 'Same Old Song And Dance' and visited the crowd at the front of the stage to sing with them. And Tyler's not just a vocalist the frontman also demonstrated his musical talents during the set, playing the harmonica during the performance and sitting down at a piano for the encore of 'Dream On'.
Just a few years ago, a reunion between Tyler and Joe Perry nicknamed the Toxic Twins seemed like it would never happen. Judging by their time on stage at Calling Festival, it seemed like the two didn't want to be anywhere else. Here's hoping they've got a lot more years left in them.
