Ringo Starr has posted a video to his Facebook page of behind-the-scenes footage from his rehearsal with Green Day and Paul McCartney, ahead of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
At the ceremony, they collaborated to perform a rendition of The Shirelles' 1960 track 'Boys', which The Beatles later covered in 1963 for their album Please Please Me.
You can watch some footage from their rehearsals below. Along with sharing the video, a message was posted which reads: “Its been an amazing few weeks! Ringo released his new album Postcards From Paradise on March 31 and Rory Storm & The Hurricanes returned to the #1 slot on the Classic Rock MediaBase, having also held the top position for the week of April 6. Paul McCartney inducted Ringo into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18 - and you can check out this exclusive backstage footage from rehearsals - and watch out for the broadcast on HBO Saturday May 30th at 8pm.”

Speaking with Rolling Stone about performing with Ringo Starr at the ceremony, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong said: “We had been asked if we wanted to play ‘Boys’ with Ringo. It's funny. We were up onstage sound checking and someone comes up and says, ‘Hey, whose idea was it to get Green Day to play with you, Ringo?’ And he goes, ‘It was my idea, and I was right!’ We just laughed and were like, ‘Oh my God, this is so cool.’”
“It really does feel like a dream [to perform with Ringo],” he continued. “One second you're playing with Ringo onstage. . .And just the fact that I was so far away from Mike [Dirnt] and Jason [White]. I was on the side with Ringo. That part literally felt like a dream.”
