"Once, I broke my leg when Dave Grohl was watching us, and I carried on," explains Ricky Wilson proudly. "That was in Portugal many years ago."

It's not just their shared passion for breaking limbs that links Kaiser Chiefs to Foo Fighters - who were forced to cancel tour dates (including a headline Glastonbury slot) earlier this summer after Dave Grohl broke his leg on-stage - they've also toured with them several times.
"I think it must have been pretty serious for him to cancel any gigs," muses bassist Simon Rix, "It was very out of character. I'm surprised they didn't double the length of the set."

"We play with them quite a lot, because I think that they, or we, think we're kind of similar," continues Rix - a statement that prompts something of a double-take from Wilson - "in that we both give 100% to the audience, make sure everyone's having a great time. Obviously he runs around a lot, it's part of the show. So I'm thinking they're gonna have to think of a different gimmick."
"Segways," suggests Wilson. "Segways."
