Scuzz Rock duo Royal Trux have announced their first live show since their break up in 2001.
Royal Trux have announced that they will be playing their first live show since 2000 this year at the Berserktown II Festival in Los Angeles on 16 August. The band who in their 14 year career released 10 albums had previously stated that the reason the band ended was due to their individual drug problems, having always been very open about their heroin use.
In a press release from the band's label Drag City, the reunion will be happening for 'at least one Earth night. And beyond that? Man, the future is UNKNOWABLE...'.
Even though the band have been broken up since 2001, Neil Haggerty and Jennifer Herrema have collaborated together, most recently they worked together on Herrema's band Black Banana's album Electric Brick Wall in 2013. During an interview in 2012, the members said that they had been offered the chance to reform but refuted with Haggerty stating "It just doesn't make sense to me. It will never happen. It's just too depressing."
