The Maccabees covered Major Lazer's 'Lean On' as part of the Live Lounge series on BBC Radio 1, with a little help from DJ/presenter Greg James. Check it out below.
The group performed their own version of 'Lean On', a single taken from Major Lazer's forthcoming album Peace Is The Mission, on Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show yesterday (May 14). Greg James assisted the group on the reverb controls: "I first saw The Maccabees play when I was in University when the obsession began."
The Maccabees also performed their latest single 'Marks To Prove It' taken from their as-yet-untitled fourth album due out this summer, and 'Feel To Follow' which was performed especially for presenter Fearne Cotton who describes the track as 'very special to me'. You can listen to their full live lounge on BBC from about the 2 hour mark.
Fans of the band have been waiting over three years for their comeback after 2012's Given To The Wild. Guitarist Felix White explained their absence in an interview with The Evening Standard: “We ended up being a year into the process, exhausted, realising we had nothing, and not even knowing what we wanted it to sound like. We had to start again. It took twice as long as it should have.”
